The Boxer is a strong muscular dog with clean limbs, medium-sized square figure, deep chest, and smooth coat. It has been known since the 16th century, bred from the bulldog type and the Tibetan mastiff and perfected in Germany. His ancestors, like the Bulldog, were bull-baiters. The Boxer was among the first breeds chosen in Germany for police training. It is named from its manner of fighting, beginning a fight with its front paws, and looks like a man boxing. The Boxer has fearlessness, agility, strength, courage, and intelligence. Very devoted and is an excellent family companion, famed for his love and faithfulness to his master.
