Solidago, commonly called Goldenrod, is a flowering plant of the aster family. A perennial, it is found in open areas and is mostly native to North America and New Mexico. Goldenrod blooms in late summer. The young goldenrod leaves are edible. Herbal teas are sometimes made from goldenrod.
