Description

Beagles are scent hounds, small to medium in size. A member of the hound group, the breed was developed for tracking rabbits, deer, and other small game. Beagles have a great sense of smell and can follow their nose for miles. An intelligent but single minded dog, they make popular pets due to their size, even temper and lack of inherited health problems. Penny makes a great watch dogs but terrible guard dog because she loves everyone! Snoopy of comic strip fame is the world's most famous beagle.
