Flamingoes are very social birds, A type of wading bird in the genus Phoenicopterus. They often stand on one leg with the other tucked beneath their body. Flamingos hatch with greyish reddish plumage, adults range from light pink to bright red due to aqueous bacteria and beta-carotene obtained from their food supply. In nature, a healthy, well-fed flamingo is vibrantly colored.
